About Charmed by Venus

Creating has always been at the heart of who I am. Over the years, my art has evolved through many forms — from intricate macramé wall hangings and custom designs (I’ve taught hundreds of people the craft!) to hand-poured soy candles adorned with crystals and natural materials. I’m entirely self-taught, and I find deep joy in learning through doing, letting my creativity flow wherever it wants to go.

Today, I create jewellery from the sea glass I personally collect along the South Australian coast — each piece shaped by the ocean and finished by hand, capturing a moment of nature’s raw beauty.

I began my first handmade shop in 2016 and ran it full-time for several years. But recently, I made the conscious decision to slow down. Running a business left little room for creative freedom, and I realised that creating — simply for the love of it — is essential for my peace of mind.

Now, as I move through this transitional time in life (hello, perimenopause!), I feel a deep calling to live more mindfully — to honour my energy, my creativity, and the simple joy of making things by hand.

When I’m not creating, my partner and I run surf camps in Venus Bay, South Australia, where we welcome travellers from around the world into our coastal home and share our love of the ocean. I’m endlessly grateful for this life — for the freedom it gives me, the people it connects me with, and the chance to keep creating beauty in all its forms.
